Shrirang Shikshan Mahavidyalay, Bilimora has been a pioneer in the field of teacher education in South Gujarat. In 1998, the college was honoured by the Government of Gujarat with the Best Teacher Education College Award in recognition of its outstanding contribution to teacher education. Following this achievement, the college was selected as a College of Teacher Education (CTE) under the Centrally Sponsored Scheme on Teacher Education, a prestigious initiative aimed at strengthening teacher education institutions to serve as regional resource centres for academic excellence, teacher training, educational research, and extension activities. Under this scheme, the college received a development grant of ₹45 lakh, which was utilized for the construction of the CTE Academic Building and Staff Quarters, significantly enhancing the institutional infrastructure. As a designated CTE, the college was entrusted with the responsibility of organizing professional development programmes for in-service teachers of Navsari, Valsad, and Dang districts. Through orientation programmes, workshops, seminars, and pedagogical training, the institution played a significant role in enhancing teachers' professional competencies and strengthening the quality of school education in the region. The CTE recognition stands as a milestone in the college's journey and reflects its enduring commitment to excellence in teacher education.
