History

Shrirang Shikshan Mahavidyalay, Bilimora (B.Ed. College) was established in 1968 by Bilimora Vibhag Kelavani Mandal, Bilimora with the noble objective of preparing competent and committed teachers for society. The college came into existence after the closure of the P.T.C. College by the Government in 1968. During that period, Shrirang Avadhut Maharaj was residing at Avadhut Vadi, Bilimora. Recognizing the aspirations of the education-loving citizens of Bilimora to establish a teacher education institution, Shrirang Avadhut Maharaj inspired and guided their efforts. As a mark of reverence and gratitude, the institution was named Shrirang Shikshan Mahavidyalay. Subsequently, the college was blessed by Saint Muktanand Baba of Ganeshpuri, Maharashtra. In its formative years, the college infrastructure was developed through the dedicated efforts and collective support of the Principal, faculty members, students, parents, trustees, and well-wishers. Later, the Government of India upgraded the institution by providing a grant of ₹42,00,000, under which the College of Teacher Education (C.T.E.) Centre, Academic Wing, Hostel, and Staff Quarters were constructed, significantly strengthening the institution's academic and infrastructural facilities. Over the years, the institution has earned a distinguished reputation across Gujarat by preparing more than 5,000 dedicated, skilled, and professionally competent teachers, along with numerous successful principals and educational administrators serving in schools and the education sector. Since its inception, the college has remained committed to the holistic development of teacher trainees through a wide range of creative, competitive, academic, and developmental activities. The institution regularly organizes seminars, workshops, conferences, and extension programmes that enrich the professional competencies of prospective teachers and benefit principals, teachers, and students from neighbouring educational institutions. Through its continuous academic and social engagement, the college has maintained a strong, vibrant, and enduring relationship with the community.
